Congratulations to these Lake Mary Rams for their impressive performance in the classroom and community. Jr. Pee Wee Jr. Midget: About Little Scholars
Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc. (PWLS) is the only national youth sports organization in America that requires its participants to perform adequately in the classroom before permitting them to play. Accordingly, the National Pop Warner policy requires that Proof of satisfactory progress in school be provided.
To ensure adherence to the National requirements, each participant must submit a complete report card as part of the registration process (do not mail this in with the registration, the coach/team parent will request for this at a later date). The LMYFA Little Scholars Representative will review each participants' report card to ensure the National standard of at least a 70% grade point average is satisfied.
In case a participant does not have the 70% average, then they may request a Scholastic Eligibility Waiver. The Waiver is a agreement between the participant, their parent/guardian and the coach that states that the participant must show acceptable scholastic performance during the season in order to be able to participate at games and competitions. Bi-weekly progress reports are used to assess the students performance. The goal of the Waiver is to impress that success in academics is the most important priority of Pop Warner.
Each year participants in at least 5th grade during the season and who have a 96% or higher grade point average are eligible to apply for the Pop Warner All American Scholar Program. Scholastic performance, activities, and achievements are reviewed to determine if they qualify to be recognized at the Mid Florida Conference, Southeast Region or National levels.
