LMYFA Boundaries

Lake Mary Youth Football Association, like all other local Pop Warner Associations, is a member of the Mid Florida Conference who defines the boundaries for each Association. The rules governing these boundaries are strict and we must follow them. Knowingly breaking these rules will result in penalties up to and including forfeiture of games and expulsion of a participant from Pop Warner.

In general, if your address is zoned to attend Lake Mary High School, then you will be zoned for LMYFA; however, there are a couple of exceptions:

  1. Academy Manor (defined as Academy Manor and the surrounding area that is located in Sanford but is zoned for the Lake Mary High School District): Residences in this area are zoned to play for the Pop Warner Sanford Seminoles.
  2. Heathrow (defined as west of I-4 to the Wekiva and south of SR 46A to Markham Road west to the Wekiva River): Residences in this area are zoned for Seminole High School District but are zoned to play for the Pop Warner Lake Mary Rams.

Information regarding waivers:  Waivers to play for an association are handled by Mid Florida.  There are three types of waivers:

  1. Grandfather Waiver: If you participate in association and then move from that association's area (either a physical move or if your address is rezoned to another high school) then you may apply for a grandfather waiver to continue to play for the original association.
  2. Hardship Waiver: If there is some hardship that precludes you from participating with the association you are zoned for, then you may apply for a hardship waiver.  These waivers are reviewed and approved/denied by Mid Florida (the associations do not participate in the decision process).
  3. Roster Full Waiver: If the association you are zoned for is full then you may receive a roster full waiver to participate with another association.  These are granted for one year only and you will be considered a returning participant to the granting association the following year.
